For the second weekend we tried to finish cutting and drilling all the parts for the pawn bodies and head-attachments.




Marianna cut hundreds of small metal pieces...




...and Amy drilled all the necessary holes...




We finished off all of the small-sized metal skirts. Stephen then set out to measure and make a larger-radius jig for the large piece bodies (the Bishop, Queen and King bodies). It turned out that the worktable extension wasn't long enough, so Tim welded an extension onto the table extension.




Meanwhile, Joni arrived and welded most of the metal rings together. (She was so fast, we didn't even get any pictures!) Tim finished the last bit of welding while Joni ground the outsides of the rings so they were smooth.




Everybody got very dirty!
